2022
humanitarian award
background
We honored Jon with our 2020 Be Great! because, in addition to his rare mix of amazing musical talents, he has always been known for being extremely generous, kind, selfless, caring, loving, thoughtful, and for having no ego! Despite always being busy, he is the first to go out of his way to help others, volunteer at his church, and makes everyone feel like a rock star. In our humble opinion, Jon is one of the best examples of a human being.
Jon Bolton is an extremely gifted multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who sings in perfect pitch with extraordinary stage performance, humor and silly antics.
Since the summer of 2023, Jon has performed as the drummer and one of the lead singers for the iconic band The Beach Boys, who nicknamed him ‘Bolt,’ “because he’s full of energy”.
“It’s as though Ringo Starr, Keith Moon, Dennis Wilson, and Animal [from the muppets] had a child. I’m not kidding. Jon plays ‘off the beat’ fills like Ringo, clubs the drums like Dennis and Keith, and his ‘kid in a candy store’ smile is infectious. If you weren’t having fun during the show, all you need do is look at Jon. Problem solved.” - Endless Summer Quarterly
